Defect
The insulation on the engine control wiring harness has insufficient abrasion resistance. Engine vibration causes the insulation at wiring bend points to rub against the protective corrugated tube, wearing through the covering. Continued use in this condition may cause a short circuit or broken wire, resulting in the engine stalling. In the worst case, the engine may not restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected wiring with the corrected part equipped with a roll-tube protective cover. For wiring attached to the injection pump, inspect the insulation condition and take the following action: (1) If the core wire is exposed due to damage, replace the injection pump assembly with the corrected part. (2) If damage is present but the core wire is not exposed, repair the wiring and replace the protective tube with the corrected part. (3) If no damage is present, replace the protective tube with the corrected part.

状況
エンジン制御用電気配線において、配線被覆の耐摩耗性が不足しているため、エンジン振 動等により、電気配線の屈曲部の配線被覆が電気配線保護管（コルゲートチューブ）と擦れ て摩耗損傷するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、電気配線がシ ョートまたは断線してエンジンが停止し、最悪の場合、再始動できなくなるおそれがある 。
改善措置
全車両、当該電気配線を電気配線保護管（ロールチューブ）付の対策品に交換する。また、 噴射ポンプに付属する電気配線については、被覆を点検し、その状態により以下の措置を 行なう。 ①損傷により芯線の露出がある場合：噴射ポンプ一式を対策品と交換する。 ②損傷はあるが芯線の露出がない場合：配線を修理するとともに電気配線保護管を対策品 に交換する。 ③損傷がない場合：電気配線保護管を対策品に交換する。
