Defect
On manual transmission vehicles, the inner cable of the gear shift control cable has insufficient strength. Aggressive gear shift operations may deform the inner cable. Continued use can cause the inner cable to fracture, making gear shifting impossible. (Note: This recall was originally filed on August 4, 2004. A partial error in the affected vehicle selection was subsequently identified, and the number of affected vehicles has been corrected as of September 1, 2004.)
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the gear shift control cable with a corrected part.

状況
手動変速機付車のギヤシフトコントロールケーブルのインナーケーブルの強度が不足し ているため、急激なギヤシフト操作を行なうと、当該インナーケーブルが変形することが ある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、当該インナーケーブルが折損し、シフト操作 ができなくなるおそれがある。 (備考) 本件は、平成16年8月4日に届出を行なったものであるが、対象車両の選定に一部誤りがあ ることが判明したため、対象車の台数を訂正するものである。(平成16年9月1日)
改善措置
全車両、ギヤシフトコントロールケーブルを対策品と交換する。
