Defect
On vehicles converted from two-wheel drive to four-wheel drive, the rivets securing the steering gear bracket to the body have insufficient strength. Repeated full-lock steering inputs may cause the rivets to fracture. Continued use will increase steering play, and the driver may lose the ability to steer reliably.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the bracket with a new part, change the fastening method from rivets to bolts, and add supplemental bolts.

状況
二輪駆動車を四輪駆動車に改造した車両において、ステアリングギアのブラケットを車体 に固定しているリベットの強度が不足しているため、ハンドルの最大転舵の繰り返しによ り、当該リベットが折損することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、ハンドル の遊びが大きくなり、確実な操舵ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ブラケットを新品に交換し、固定方法をリベットからボルトに変更するとと もに、ボルトを追加する。
