Filing in context
This notification is a joint filing by 2 manufacturers: Isuzu & Nissan.
The Turn Signal Lamps is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 8 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 46 Isuzu notifications from 2010 in this archive. For scale, 4,477 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 6 years and 9 months.
Defect
On vehicles fitted with additional side turn signal lamps, a 4-lamp flasher unit was incorrectly installed in place of the required 6-lamp unit. As a result, if a front or rear turn signal lamp fails, the flash rate of the driver's turn signal indicator does not change to alert the driver to the malfunction.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the flasher unit with a 6-lamp unit. The replacement flasher unit is the same corrected part used in measure ①.
