Defect
Replacement exhaust pipes were manufactured using pipe stock with wall thickness thinner than the specified value, resulting in insufficient strength. Continued use may cause the exhaust pipe to sustain damage and produce increased noise. Note: This recall applies to vehicles whose exhaust pipes were replaced between October 1, 2002 and April 13, 2004. Affected vehicles are of the independent suspension type.
Corrective action
Inspect the installed exhaust pipe and, where applicable, replace it with a conforming part.

交換修理用の排気管において、標準より肉厚の薄い管を使用して製造したため、排気管の 強度が不足しているものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、排気管が損傷し、 騒音が増大するおそれがある。 （備考） 平成１４年１０月１日から平成１６年４月１３日までに排気管を交換修理した車両が対象。対象の型 式は独立懸架車。
改善措置
装着されている排気管を確認し、該当するものは良品と交換する。
