Defect

On vehicles equipped with front fog lamps, the fog lamp bulb socket is improperly assembled. Driving vibration can cause the bulb socket to separate from the fog lamp housing. Heat generated by the bulb may then ignite surrounding plastic components. In the worst case, a vehicle fire may result.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, inspect the bulb socket assembly condition. Any improperly assembled socket must be reinstalled correctly.
