Defect
The material of the noise-dampening rubber on the rack inside the power sliding door release actuator is inappropriate. The rubber absorbs grease, swells, and detaches, jamming the gear mechanism. As a result, the door may fail to close.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the release actuator with a corrected part.
