Defect
In the emissions control system, the internal wiring connections of the air-fuel ratio sensors—which detect oxygen concentration in exhaust gas and are installed on both the left and right exhaust manifolds—may disconnect. Continued use causes the sensors to stop outputting signals, preventing proper air-fuel ratio control. This causes the catalytic converter to overheat and sustain damage, and exhaust emissions may exceed the specified regulatory limits.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected air-fuel ratio sensors with conforming units, and inspect the catalytic converter. If damage is found, replace it with a new unit.

状況
一酸化炭素等発散防止装置において、左右の排気マニホルドに設置された排出ガスの中の 酸素濃度を検出する空燃比(空気と燃料の比率)センサの内部配線の接続が外れることが あり、そのままの状態で使用を続けると当該センサからの信号が出なくなって、適正な空 燃比が得られなくなり、触媒コンバータが異常加熱して損傷するとともに、排出ガス値が 基準値を超えるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該空燃比センサを良品と交換するとともに、触媒コンバータを点検し、損傷し ているものは新品と交換する。
