Defect

On manual transmission vehicles, the center bearing retainer bracket on the propeller shaft has insufficient strength. Frequent driving maneuvers that demand high acceleration forces—such as rapid acceleration from low speed or hard launches—may fracture the bracket and cause the center bearing section to separate. In the worst case, the vehicle becomes inoperable.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the retainer bracket and mounting spacer with corrected parts. On vehicles equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, also replace the propeller shaft with the corrected part.

状況

手動変速機付車の動力伝達装置において、プロペラシャフトの中間軸受け保持金具の強度 が不足しているため、低速走行からの急加速や急発進等、大きな加速力を必要とするよう な走行を頻繁に行うと、当該保持金具が破損して中間軸受け部が外れるものがあり、最悪 の場合、走行不能に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該保持金具と取付スペーサーを対策品に交換するとともに、6速手動変速機付 車についてはプロペラシャフトを対策品に交換する。
