Defect

On vehicles equipped with a stroke-sensor ABS, grease has contaminated the contact points of the brake light switch. Continued use causes the grease to carbonize, melting the resin switching components inside the switch. In the worst case, the brake lights remain illuminated continuously or fail to illuminate at all.

Corrective action

Replace the brake light switch on all vehicles with a conforming unit and add a relay to the brake light circuit.

状況

制動装置のストロークセンサ付制動力制御装置(ABS:アンチロックブレーキングシス テム)装着車両において、制動灯スイッチ接点部にグリースが付着したものがあり、その ままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、グリースの炭化により当該スイッチのオン・ オフ切換用樹脂部品が溶損し、制動灯が点灯したまま又は不灯になるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、当該制動灯スイッチを良品と交換するとともに、制動灯回路にリレーを追加する 。
