Defect

On manual transmission vehicles, the parking brake mounting structure is inadequate, causing the lock nut securing the center brake drum to loosen. Continued operation in this condition may, in the worst case, cause the transmission main shaft to fracture and render the vehicle inoperable.

Corrective action

Inspect all vehicles. If main shaft runout exceeds the specified value, replace the transmission assembly with one incorporating corrected parts. On all other vehicles, replace the speedometer gear and lock nut with corrected parts.

状況

手動式変速機装着車において、駐車ブレーキ装置の取付け構造が不適切なため、センター ブレーキドラムを固定するロックナットが緩み、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪 の場合、変速機のメインシャフトが折損して走行不能に至るおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両点検し、メインシャフトの振れが規定値以上の場合は、対策品を組み込んだトラン スミッションAssyと交換する。それ以外のものは、スピードメータギヤ及びロックナ ットを対策品と交換する。
