Defect
The vacuum pump hose attached to the alternator is incorrectly shaped. When the alternator is used to adjust fan belt tension, the hose deforms. Continued use in this condition may cause the hose to crack, disabling the exhaust gas recirculation system. On vehicles equipped with a vacuum-hydraulic brake system, braking force may also be reduced.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the affected hose and tube with corrected/revised parts (with clamp).

状況
原動機の充電発電機(オルタネータ)に取付けられている真空ポンプのホース形状が不適 切なため、オルタネータでファンベルトの張り調整をすることにより、当該ホースが変形 し、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、最悪の場合、ホースに亀裂が生じ、排出ガス再循 環装置が機能しなくなり、また、制動装置が真空油圧式のものにあっては、制動力が低下 するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ホース及びチューブを対策品(クランプ付)と交換する。
