Defect
During welding of the propeller shaft used in the powertrain of four-wheel-drive vehicles, localized electrode contact caused cracks to form in some propeller shafts. Continued use in this condition may cause the propeller shaft to fracture, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the propeller shaft identification label. On units with serial numbers 94062010001 through 94071310069, replace the propeller shaft with a non-defective unit.

状況
四輪駆動車に使用している動力伝達装置のプロペラシャフトの溶接工程において、溶接用 の電極が局部接触となったため、プロペラシャフトに亀裂が発生しているものがあり、こ のままの状態で長時間使用を続けると、最悪の場合、当該プロペラシャフトが折損し走行 不能に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、プロペラシャフトの識別ラベルを点検し、製造番号が94062010001から940713100 69のものは、プロペラシャフトを良品と交換する。
