Filing in context
The Seat is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 34 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 21 Nissan notifications from 2023 in this archive. For scale, 4,283 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 2 months.
Issue
On slide-up seats equipped with seat heaters, the thermistor (temperature control sensor) is improperly positioned. Because of this, the temperature control function activates late during seat heater operation, allowing the seat surface to remain at an elevated temperature for an extended period. In the worst case, an occupant seated in the affected seat may suffer a low-temperature burn.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, the seat heater thermistor mounting position is relocated from the harness bracket to the seat cushion pad. On vehicles equipped with waterproof seat trim, a thermal insulation sheet is bonded to the harness bracket.
