Issue

In the pedal misapplication collision prevention assist system, the control program is designed to release the low-speed acceleration suppression function immediately upon deactivation. When the suppression function ends while the accelerator pedal is significantly depressed, a sharp change in acceleration force may occur. This abrupt change may cause the driver to perceive a sudden and unexpected surge in vehicle acceleration.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, the ADAS ECU (Advanced Driver Assistance System ECU) control program is reprogrammed to a corrected specification that produces a gradual acceleration transition.

※1 Advanced Driver Assistance System(先進運転支援システム)
