Issue
During the manufacturing process for replacement reduction gear units, an improperly conducted parking lock assembly process resulted in incorrect parking lock rods being installed in some units. The parking lock mechanism — which mechanically locks the wheels when the transmission is placed in Park — may therefore fail to engage, and the transmission may subsequently become immovable from the Park position. In the worst case, if the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle may move depending on the parking conditions.
Corrective action
Verify the production serial number of the reduction gear unit; if the serial number falls within the affected range, replace the unit with a conforming part.

状況
補修用の減速機の製造工程において、パーキングロック(Pレンジにした際に車輪を機械的に固定するもの)組立工程が不適切であったため、パーキングロッドの異品が組み込まれたものがある。そのため、パーキングロックが作動せず、さらにPレンジから動かなくなり、最悪の場合、駐車条件によっては駐車ブレーキを掛けていないと車両が動くおそれがある。
改善措置
減速機の製造番号を確認し、対象の製造番号の場合には当該減速機を良品と交換する。
