Issue
In the shift-lock system, the control software is incorrect, causing the shift lock to fail to engage when the hybrid engine starts or stops while the vehicle is stationary. As a result, the driver may shift from Park (P) to Drive (D) or Reverse (R) without pressing the brake pedal, and the vehicle may move unintentionally.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the shift-lock control software.
