Defect
In the automatic transmission control computer (ECU), inadequate management of the welding equipment during production results in defective welds at the ECU case joint. With continued use, transmission fluid may penetrate the case interior, and metallic particles within the fluid may form a short circuit. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the valve body assembly with one containing a conforming automatic transmission control computer.

状況
自動変速機内の制御コンピュータ(ECU)において、溶接機の管理が不適切なため、ECUケース接合面に溶接不良のものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、トランスミッションフルードがケース内部に浸入してフルード内の金属粉により短絡回路が形成され、最悪の場合、走行不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、良品の自動変速機制御コンピュータを搭載したバルブボデーと交換する。
