Filing in context
This filing is one of 37 Isuzu notifications from 2017 in this archive. For scale, 4,359 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 5 years and 9 months.
Issue
On medium-duty route buses equipped with a two-fold ramp, incorrect-material rivets were used at the ramp joint, resulting in insufficient strength at that connection. Continued use may cause the ramp to break during passenger boarding or alighting, causing passengers to fall.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the ramp rivets with rivets of the correct material.
