Defect
On light trucks, the electric parking brake system control program is incorrect. When the electric parking brake is applied, the system incorrectly identifies a normal parking brake cable stroke as abnormal, causing the electric parking brake warning light to illuminate.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the electric parking brake control unit with the corrected/updated software.
