Defect
On large hybrid transit buses, some inverters—which convert electrical current for vehicle drive—have insufficient durability and reliability. Inverter failure may cause the vehicle drive motor and auxiliary motors to stop functioning, triggering the hybrid system warning lamp and a reduction in output. In the worst case, the vehicle may become inoperable and power steering may be lost.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the inverter B-side fuse with a corrected/revised part as an interim measure. The inverter itself is to be replaced periodically with a new unit at an appropriate interval.

状況
大型路線バスのハイブリッド車において、電流の変換装置であるインバータの耐久信頼性が不足しているものがある。そのため、インバータ破損により車両駆動用モータや補機用モータが作動せず、ハイブリッドシステム警告灯の点灯、出力低下が発生し、最悪の場合、走行不能、パワーステアリング機能不良となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、暫定措置としてインバータB側のヒューズを対策品に交換する。 インバータについては、適切な時期に定期的に新品に交換する。
