Defect
Insufficient consideration of the press-forming process during development resulted in some intermediate shafts developing cracks at the joint section during forming. In service, these cracks may propagate and cause the shaft to fracture. In the worst case, this may result in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
Replace the intermediate shaft on all vehicles with a conforming part.

状況
インタミディエイトシャフトにおいて、プレス加工工程の検討が不十分であったため、ジョイント部の成型時に亀裂が生じているものがある。そのため、使用過程で亀裂が進展して破断し、最悪の場合、操舵不能となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、インタミディエイトシャフトを良品に交換する。
