Defect
In the steering system, the welding equipment used to manufacture the intermediate shaft — which connects the steering wheel to the steering gear box — was set to an incorrect position, resulting in defective welds at the shaft joints. Continued use may cause the joint to fracture, resulting in loss of steering control.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the intermediate shaft with a conforming unit.

状況
かじ取装置において、ハンドルとギヤボックスをつなぐ連結軸(インタミディエイトシャフト)の溶接設備の設定位置が不適切なため、連結軸の接合部に溶接不良のものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該接合部が破損し、かじ取り操作ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、インタミディエイトシャフトを良品と交換する。
