Defect

Due to inadequate waterproofing of the harness on the beacon lights, rainwater or other moisture may enter the wiring and cause a short circuit in the control unit for the vehicle's side beacon lights. This blows the fuse serving the side and rear beacon lights. While the beacon lights at the upper front of the vehicle continue to function, all other beacon lights may fail to flash.

Corrective action

Replace the side beacon lights (control unit and harness as an integrated assembly) on all vehicles with corrected parts.
