Defect
The front brake master cylinder diaphragm contains an additive in its raw material that is not suitable for contact with brake fluid. The additive leaches into the brake fluid and causes the seal to swell, which may block the hydraulic pressure-regulating passage and leave it obstructed. Under certain conditions this increases brake lever free play and, in the worst case, stopping distance is extended.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the diaphragm and front brake master cylinder body set with corrected/revised parts.

状況
フロントブレーキマスタシリンダにおいて、ダイヤフラムの原材料に含まれる添加剤が不適切なため、ブレーキ液中に溶け出した添加剤によりシールが膨潤すると、液圧調整用の油路を閉塞したままとなることがある。そのため、特定の条件下でブレーキレバーの遊びが大きくなり、最悪の場合、制動距離が伸びるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ダイヤフラム、およびフロントブレーキマスタシリンダボデーセットを対策品と交換する。
