Filing in context

The Fuel pump is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 37 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 15 Suzuki notifications from 2024 in this archive. For scale, 1,527 of the 4,890 filings in this archive report a larger number of affected vehicles; the vehicles involved here were manufactured over a span of about 8 years and 8 months.

Defect

The fuel pump has an improperly designed connection structure at the fuel hose interface. When the vehicle is used in a salt-damage environment, cracks may develop on the surface of the resin discharge port. Continued long-term use allows the cracks to progress, which may result in a fuel leak.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, replace the fuel pump with a new unit, replace the fuel hose with a corrected part, and add a rubber cover over the fuel pump discharge port.
