Defect

On large route buses, the connector terminal arrangement of the electric water pump used to cool the urea injection unit is improperly configured. Immediately after engine shutdown, when the diesel particulate filter is at high temperature, the water pump fails to operate, leaving the urea valve in the injection unit uncooled, which causes it to melt. Continued use allows urea solution to leak, and in the worst case, exhaust gas purification may not be performed properly.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, correct the connector terminal arrangement of the urea injection unit cooling electric water pump to its proper configuration and replace the complete urea injection unit assembly with a new unit.

状況

 大型路線バスにおいて、尿素水噴射ユニット冷却用電動ウォーターポンプのコネクタ端子の配列が不適切なため、エンジン停止直後のDPF高温時に当該ウォーターポンプが作動せず、尿素水噴射ユニットの尿素水バルブが冷却されず溶損する。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、尿素水が漏れだし、最悪の場合、排気ガス浄化処理が適切に行われないおそれがある。

改善措置

 全車両、尿素水噴射ユニット冷却用電動ウォーターポンプのコネクタ端子の配列を正規状態に修正し、尿素水噴射ユニット一式を新品に交換する。
