Defect
The engine control computer uses improper fault-detection conditions. When an idling stop shuts the engine down and that shutdown is interrupted by accelerator operation or similar input, the computer may temporarily lose the ability to correctly identify the fuel injection cylinder. The computer may then incorrectly log this as a fault and disable fuel injection until the correct cylinder is identified. If this occurs while driving, the vehicle decelerates; if the vehicle is stationary, the engine may be unable to restart.
Corrective action
(2) On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control computer with the corrected/updated software.

状況
(2)エンジン制御コンピュータにおいて、故障判定する条件が不適切なため、アイドリングストップによりエンジンが停止する際、アクセル操作等でエンジン停止が中断されると、一時的に、燃料噴射気筒を正しく判定できなくなることがある。そのため、その時に故障として誤判定することで、燃料噴射を禁止し、燃料噴射気筒を正しく判定するまで燃料が噴射できず、走行中の場合は車両が減速し、停車中の場合はエンジンが再始動できないおそれがある。
改善措置
(2)全車両、エンジン制御コンピュータの制御プログラムを対策プログラムに修正する。
