Defect
The engine control unit (ECU) contains an improperly designed control program that misidentifies a momentary crankshaft reversal—which occurs normally during EV operation or regenerative braking while engine stop-position control is active—as a fault. The ECU then resets and erases stored diagnostic trouble information. As a result, the vehicle does not conform to the on-board diagnostic system technical standards prescribed in Article 31 of the Safety Standards (Appended Table 48 of the Detailed Regulations).
Corrective action
On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control unit (ECU) with the corrected/updated software.

状況
エンジン制御コンピュータ（ＥＣＵ）において、制御プログラムが不適切なため、ＥＶ走行時または回生時のエンジン停止位置制御中にクランクシャフトの瞬間的な逆転を異常と誤検知し、ＥＣＵがリセットして、故障診断情報を消去することがある。そのため、保安基準第３１条で定める基準（細目告示別添４８「車載式故障診断装置の技術基準」）に適合しない。
改善措置
全車両、エンジン制御コンピュータを対策プログラムに書き換える。
