Defect
During final inspection of designated-type light trucks, the brake testing equipment used lacked sufficient measurement accuracy. As a result, brake compliance with the Road Vehicles Safety Standards may not have been properly confirmed.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, a vehicle inspector at a designated facility will conduct a re-inspection of brake stopping force. Any non-conformance with the Road Vehicles Safety Standards identified during re-inspection will be corrected.
