Defect
On large trucks, engine accessory mounting bolts and nuts were insufficiently torqued during the engine manufacturing process. Vibration may cause these fasteners to loosen. Depending on the location, continued operation may result in coolant, exhaust gas, or fuel leaks that degrade engine performance. In the worst case, overheating or a vehicle fire may occur.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, retighten the applicable accessory bolts and nuts to the specified torque.
