Defect
On light trucks, grease was not applied to the slide pins of the front wheel brake calipers. Continued use without grease causes the outer pad to fail to retract fully after brake application, resulting in severe wear of the outer pad. In the worst case, the outer pad may detach.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the slide pins of the front wheel brake calipers for grease application. If grease is absent, replace the caliper and measure outer pad wear. If severe wear is found, replace the pads as well.

状況
小型トラックにおいて、前輪用ブレーキキャリパーのスライドピンにグリスが塗布されていないものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ブレーキ操作後にアウターパッドが戻りきらなくなって著しく摩耗し、最悪の場合、アウターパッドが脱落するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、前輪用ブレーキキャリパーのスライドピンのグリス塗布状況を点検し、グリスが塗布されていない場合には、キャリパーを交換するとともにパッド摩耗量の測定を行い、アウターパッドに著しい摩耗が認められた場合はパッドも交換する。
