Defect

On medium-duty trucks, the side-suspended spare tire carrier has an improperly shaped hanger plate. When a tire mounted on an aluminum wheel is secured to the carrier, driving vibration may cause the spare tire to rotate. This rotation causes the carrier chain and hanger plate to interfere and wear against each other, eventually fracturing the chain. In the worst case, the spare tire may detach from the vehicle.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, the spare tire carrier will be replaced with the corrected/revised part.

状況

中型トラックの横吊り式スペアタイヤキャリヤにおいて、吊り板の形状が不適切なため、当該キャリヤにアルミホイール付タイヤを固定すると、走行中の振動でスペアタイヤが回転することがある。そのため、当該スペアタイヤキャリヤのチェーンと吊り板が干渉して削れ、チェーンが破断し、最悪の場合、スペアタイヤが脱落するおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、スペアタイヤキャリヤを対策品に交換する。
