Defect

The engine control unit contains an improperly designed charging control program. Frequent extended idling periods may cause abnormal battery deterioration. As a result, the engine may fail to restart after an idling stop.

Corrective action

On all vehicles, reprogram the engine control unit with the corrected/updated software. In addition, inspect the battery fluid condition; if any abnormality is found, replace the battery with a new unit.

状況

エンジン制御用コンピュータにおいて、充電制御プログラムが不適切なため、長時間のアイドリングを頻繁に繰返すとバッテリが異常劣化することがある。そのため、アイドリングストップ後、エンジンが再始動できなくなるおそれがある。

改善措置

全車両、エンジン制御用コンピュータのプログラムを対策仕様に修正する。また、バッテリ液の状態を点検し、異常がある場合はバッテリを新品に交換する。
