Defect
On vehicles equipped with an automated mechanical transmission (AGS), the select piston — the component that executes gear shifts — has an incorrect design, resulting in insufficient durability. Repeated gear changes can cause the select piston to fracture, illuminating a warning light and leaving the vehicle unable to shift gears or move.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the select piston with the corrected part.
