Defect
Insufficient consideration of assembly variation during the design of engine compartment electrical wiring allows some wiring to contact adjacent components in areas not protected by a cover. Driving vibration abrades the wiring insulation, causing the wires to short circuit and generate heat, which can burn the wiring. In the worst case, this may result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the affected wiring. Where insulation is undamaged, add protective material. Where insulation is already damaged, replace the wiring with a new harness fitted with protective material.

状況
エンジンルーム内の電気配線において、組付ばらつきの検討が不足していたため、当該配線が保護カバーのない箇所で周辺部品と干渉しているものがある。そのため、走行時の振動により当該配線の被覆が損傷して、配線同士が短絡、発熱し、焼損することがあり、最悪の場合、車両火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該配線を点検し、被覆に損傷がないものは保護材を追加する。また、被覆が損傷しているものは保護材を追加した新品と交換する。
