Defect
The electrical wiring connected to the electric power steering controller is improperly secured. Vehicle vibration during driving causes wear at the connector terminals between the controller and the wiring, generating insulating deposits that result in loss of electrical continuity. As a result, the warning light illuminates, the power steering assist function stops, and steering effort increases.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the electric power steering controller with a new unit, add a bracket, and secure the electrical wiring to the bracket with a clamp.

状況
電動パワーステアリングのコントローラに接続される電気配線の固定方法が不適切なため、走行時の車両振動等によりコントローラと電気配線のコネクタ部の端子が摩耗して絶縁物が生成され、導通不良に至ることがある。そのため、警告灯が点灯するとともにパワーステアリングのアシスト機能が停止し、ステアリングの操作力が増大するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、電動パワーステアリングコントローラを新品に交換するとともに、ブラケットを追加して、電気配線をクランプでブラケットに固定する。
