Defect
On large and medium fixed-route buses, inadequate protection at the junction between the under-driver's-seat distribution box and the driver's-side wall panel allows wiring to contact the unprotected edge of that junction. Continued operation can damage the wiring insulation, causing a short circuit. In the worst case, the engine may stall while driving and fail to restart.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the junction between the under-driver's-seat distribution box and the driver's-side wall panel. Where edge protection is inadequate, add protective material. If the wiring is damaged, repair the wiring.

状況
①大型・中型路線バスにおいて、運転者席下側配電箱と運転者席側壁パネルの接続部の端部の保護が不適切なため、当該端部と配線が干渉するものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、配線の被覆が損傷して短絡し、最悪の場合、走行中にエンジンが停止し、再始動できなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
①全車両、運転者席下側配電箱と運転者席側壁パネルの接続部を点検し、端部の保護が不適切なものは保護材を追加するとともに、配線が損傷している場合は配線を補修する。
