Filing in context
The Wiring is the most frequently cited component category in this archive, appearing in 236 of its 4,890 filings. This filing is one of 37 Isuzu notifications from 2017 in this archive. Defect
On large and medium route buses, the side switch on the distribution box below the driver's seat is improperly positioned. The switch terminals and wiring may contact the public address system controller. Continued use can damage the wire insulation, causing a short circuit, and in the worst case, the doors may become unable to open or close.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, perform one of the following corrective actions, and inspect the wiring in the affected area; if damaged, repair it: (1) Replace the side switch terminals on the distribution box below the driver's seat with corrected parts. (2) Relocate the public address system controller. (3) Relocate the side switch on the distribution box.
