Defect
On large touring buses, the fastening structure between the air conditioning cover and the roof is improperly designed. When strong wind strikes the rear of the roof, the plastic fasteners securing the cover can disengage, causing the cover to lift and creating a gap between the cover and the roof. If strong crosswinds are subsequently encountered, the cover may break apart and detach from the vehicle. In the worst case, the detached cover becomes a road hazard and may obstruct other traffic.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the plastic fastener attachment between the air conditioning cover and the roof with a bolt-fastened connection.

状況
大型観光バスにおいて、エアコンカバーとルーフの締結構造が不適切なため、ルーフ後方から強い風を受けると、カバーを締結している樹脂製ファスナーが外れ、カバーが浮いてルーフとの間に隙間が生じることがある。さらに強い横風を受けると、最悪の場合、カバーが破損し脱落して、他の交通の妨げになるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、エアコンカバーとルーフの締結構造を、樹脂ファスナーからボルト締結に変更する。
