Defect
The plastic pump ring on the top surface of the fuel tank has insufficient heat shielding, leaving it vulnerable to heat from the engine and exhaust pipes. This causes the pump ring to degrade over time. Continued use allows the degradation to progress until the pump ring cracks and fuel leaks, which in the worst case may result in a vehicle fire.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the pump ring assembly with a new part and apply a heat shield pad to the fuel tank. Because replacement parts require time to procure, inspections will be conducted in order of vehicle age, starting with the oldest. If a crack is found during inspection, replace the pump ring assembly with a new part and apply a heat shield pad to the fuel tank.

状況
燃料タンクにおいて、タンク上面にある樹脂製ポンプリング部の遮熱性が不足しているため、エンジンや排気管からの熱影響を受けてポンプリングが劣化することがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると劣化が進行して、ポンプリングに亀裂が入り燃料が漏れ、最悪の場合、火災に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、ポンプリング一式を新品に交換し、燃料タンクに遮熱パッドを貼り付ける。なお、交換部品の準備に時間を要することから、年式の古いものから順次点検を実施する。点検により亀裂が確認された場合は、ポンプリング一式を新品に交換し、燃料タンクに遮熱パッドを貼り付ける。
