Defect
In the front passenger airbag inflator, inadequate moisture protection of the propellant allows repeated temperature and humidity cycling to degrade the propellant. As a result, the inflator housing may rupture during airbag deployment.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the airbag inflator or airbag assembly with an improved part as a precautionary measure. If replacement parts are unavailable, disable the front passenger airbag function and display a warning on the passenger sun visor indicating that the airbag is inactive.

状況
助手席用エアバッグのインフレータ（膨張装置）において、ガス発生剤の吸湿防止が不適切なため、温度および湿度変化の繰り返しによりガス発生剤が劣化することがある。このため、エアバッグ展開時にインフレータ容器が破損するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、予防的措置としてエアバッグインフレータまたはエアバッグアッセンブリを改良品と交換する。なお、交換用部品が不足した場合には、助手席エアバッグの機能を停止するとともに、助手席サンバイザ部に当該エアバッグが作動しない旨の警告を表示する。
