Defect
On rear dual-axle heavy-duty trucks with leaf suspensions, the radius rod bracket mounted on the trunnion cross member is improperly shaped. Radius rod loads during driving deform the cross member, causing the bolts securing the cross member and reinforcement plate to loosen. Continued use causes the bolts to fracture and cracks to develop in the cross member and reinforcement plate. In the worst case, the radius rod fastening components may separate from the cross member, impairing driving stability.
Corrective action
Replace the radius rod bracket and mounting nuts with corrected parts and retighten the bolts to the newly specified torque. Inspect the cross member and reinforcement plate; if cracks are found, repair the cross member and replace the reinforcement plate with a good part.

状況
後2軸式リーフサスペンション仕様の大型トラックにおいて、トラニオンクロスメンバに装着されているラジアスロッドブラケットの形状が不適切なため、走行時のラジアスロッド入力によりクロスメンバが変形し、クロスメンバと補強板をとめているボルトが緩むものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、ボルトが折損するとともに、クロスメンバと補強板に亀裂が生じて、最悪の場合、ラジアスロッド締結部品がクロスメンバから外れ、走行安定性が損なわれるおそれがある。
改善措置
ラジアスロッドブラケットと取付ナットを対策品に交換し、ボルトを新規のトルクで締め直す。また、クロスメンバと補強板を点検し、亀裂が生じていた場合、クロスメンバは補修し、補強板は良品に交換する。
