Defect
On fire trucks (ladder trucks), the weld joining the front axle torque rod mounting bracket to the underside of the frame is improperly executed. Repeated load inputs during driving may cause cracks to develop at the weld. Continued operation allows the cracks to propagate and, in the worst case, the weld at the torque rod mounting bracket separates, rendering the vehicle inoperable.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, inspect the weld at the front axle torque rod mounting bracket for cracks, then add reinforcing material by welding to both the bracket and the underside of the outrigger box. If cracks are found at the bracket weld, repair them.

状況
消防車(はしご車)の緩衝装置において、前軸トルクロッド取付ブラケットとフレーム下面の溶接が不適切なため、走行時の入力の繰り返しで溶接部に亀裂が生じることがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、亀裂が進行し、最悪の場合、トルクロッド取付ブラケットの溶接部が剥がれ走行不能になるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、前軸トルクロッド取付ブラケット溶接部の亀裂有無を点検し、当該ブラケットとアウトリガーボックス下面部に補強材を追加溶接する。また、当該ブラケット溶接部に亀裂が発見された場合は補修する。
