Defect
On heavy-duty trucks equipped with a 12-speed automated mechanical transmission, the output shaft has insufficient strength, which may cause cracks to develop in the shaft. Continued operation allows the crack to propagate and, in the worst case, the output shaft fractures. This may cause the propeller shaft to detach or damage surrounding components, resulting in secondary failures.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the rear housing assembly of the automated mechanical transmission with an assembly incorporating the corrected output shaft.

状況
12段機械式自動変速機を搭載した大型トラックにおいて、アウトプットシャフトの強度が不足しているため、当該シャフトに亀裂が発生するものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、当該シャフトの亀裂が進行し、最悪の場合、アウトプットシャフトが破断し、プロペラシャフトが脱落又は周辺部品を破損させ二次的不具合を生じるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、機械式自動変速機のリヤハウジング一式を、対策品のアウトプットシャフトを組み込んだものに交換する。
