Defect
On large and medium-sized buses, the battery-side wiring connection at the starter is improperly tightened on some units. Continued use in this condition allows vehicle vibration to loosen the wiring, causing the terminal to short circuit against the motor-side wiring. In the worst case, this may result in a vehicle fire or a broken wire in the starter relay wiring, rendering the engine unable to start.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, retighten the starter battery-side wiring to the specified torque. If damage is found on the resin section between the starter terminals, replace the starter assembly.

状況
大・中型バスの原動機において、スターターのバッテリー側配線の締付けに不適切なものがある。そのため、そのままの状態で使用を続けると、車両振動によって当該配線が緩んで端子部がモーター側配線と短絡し、最悪の場合、火災やスターターリレー配線の断線が生じて始動不能に至るおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、スターターのバッテリー側配線を正規状態で締め付ける。また、スターター端子間の樹脂部分に損傷が認められた場合は、スターター一式を交換する。
