Defect
During manufacture of the driver-side SRS airbag inflator, moisture management following propellant filling was inadequate. Exposure to ambient temperature fluctuations during service may cause the propellant to expand and its density to decrease. When the airbag deploys, internal inflator pressure may rise abnormally, rupturing the inflator housing and scattering fragments, which may injure vehicle occupants.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the driver-side SRS airbag inflator with a corrected part.

状況
運転者席側SRSエアバッグのインフレータ(膨張装置)において、インフレータ製造時におけるガス発生剤充填後の吸湿管理が不適切なため、使用過程での外気温等の影響によりガス発生剤が膨張し、密度が低下するものがある。そのため、エアバッグ展開時にインフレータ内圧が異常上昇し、インフレータ容器が破損して飛び散り、乗員が負傷するおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、運転者席側SRSエアバッグのインフレータを対策品と交換する。
