Defect
In the motor control unit (MCU) that governs the drive motor, inadequate process control during manufacturing of the internal insulating substrate causes the substrate's insulation resistance to degrade. This destabilizes circuit voltage, illuminating a warning light, and fail-safe control limits drive motor output. In the worst case, the vehicle may become unable to restart and the drive battery may be unable to accept a charge.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the motor control unit (MCU) with a conforming unit.

状況
駆動用モーターを制御するモーターコントロールユニット(MCU)において、内部の絶縁基板の製造工程管理が不適切なため、当該絶縁基板の絶縁抵抗が低下するものがある。そのため、回路電圧が不安定となり、警告灯が点灯するとともに、フェールセーフ制御により駆動用モーターの出力が制限され、最悪の場合、再起動不可及び駆動用バッテリーへの充電不可となるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、モーターコントロールユニット(MCU)を良品に交換する。
