Issue
On vehicles equipped with side airbags and curtain shield airbags, the side airbag sensor is oriented in an incorrect collision-detection direction. During a side-impact collision, impact detection is delayed, and the occupant protection function may not operate properly.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the side airbag sensor with a corrected part.
