Defect
In the steering column, the outer tube was manufactured with insufficient roundness, causing the load on the internal bearing to be distributed unevenly. Continued use can damage the bearing, resulting in excessive vertical play in the steering wheel. In the worst case, the steering wheel may lose its fore-and-aft locking capability.
Corrective action
On all vehicles, replace the steering column assembly with a conforming unit.

状況
ステアリングコラムにおいて、アウターチューブの真円度が不適切なため、内側のベアリングに掛かる荷重が不均一なものがある。そのため、そのまま使用を続けると、ベアリングが破損してハンドルの上下方向のガタが大きくなり、最悪の場合、ハンドル前後方向の固定ができなくなるおそれがある。
改善措置
全車両、当該ステアリングコラム一式を良品と交換する。
